The fly fishing season generally starts in Slovenia on April 1st and lasts until September 30th. In some districts it starts earlier (as early as March 1st), and ends elsewhere on November 30th.

  • Restrictions
    The fishing is allowed only with artificial flies tied to barbless (or with barbs pressed) hook. Boat angling is forbidden.

  • Fishing area
    The river Ljubija from the spring to the outflow into the Ljubljanica. The river Bistra from the springs to the outflow into the Ljubljanica. From 1.4. to 15.5., fishing is forbidden from the springs to the confluence of both currents of the Bistra. From 16.5. to 1.7. is in both springs of the Bistra forbidden to wade in the water. Fishing is only allowed from the bank.
