The slow current in the usual water levels represents great joy for all the fishermen who float fish when they wait for the first class specimen to be caught. Where the waters are deep, the river vegetation is scarse and the fish gather here in larger numbers.The Danube roach with floats, the barbel with ground fishing, roach with pole fishing, maybe even river carp with boilies. The number of possibilities is great. The depth gets even deeper, the rapids are gone, the only points where the flowrate increases is where the tributaries flow in. The most interesting fish to fish for is definitely pike, but you can count on graylings, brown troats, rainbow trouts as well. The chub might surprise you when fishing with smaller baits. It is a mixed district and the quantity of the whitefish increases. The shore vegetation and- in summertime- the river vegetation, too make the fishing hard. You can fish for grayling using dry fly very often but you have to react to the happenings in the water very quickly. In this district the Ljubljanica is classical carst river with slow current and rare rapids, with the depth and water vegetation.
